Oldmac Group

1976

The Oldmac Group was founded:

Graham Oldham (Manager at Farsley Motors) &
Jock MacGregor (Manager of Southside Auto Auctions) –decide to become partners in a dealership venture.
The partnership was the origin of name: “Oldmac”

10th July 1976

Graham & Jock purchased what was then a Marine Dealership at 3376 Pacific Highway, Springwood.
There was a wooden house with a cement patio which became the first Oldmac showroom.
This was a dealership that was only able to sell Toyota Passenger Vehicles. Over a period of time the surrounding blocks of land were purchased at Springwood (the next door Caravan/Camper Trailer Yard and the QUF Plumbing Hardware Depot).
1977 -The building was extended to incorporate a glassed - in showroom, a workshop and a parts outlet (currently where the Wheel Alignment centre and Panel Section of the Parts warehouse are today).

1979

Hurford Toyota was purchased (Business only) – this Dealership at Cleveland (currently where the Bridgestone Tyre Centre is in Shore Street), sold Passenger & Commercial Vehicles .This extended the market for Oldmac Springwood as they could now deliver Commercials as well, thus tripling the sales for Cleveland.

1982 -1995

1982-New Oldmac Toyota Service Department at Springwood built.
1995- The corner block straddling Dennis Road and the Pacific Highway access road, ex –Zupps was purchased and the current Used Cars and Parts Department were built.
1989 –The land on 58 Shore Street was purchased and Oldmac TOYOTA CLEVELAND was built.

January 1999

Oldmac Mazda Cleveland moved across the road from Wellington Street into a new modern Showroom with a “state-of-the-art ” Service facility, next door to Oldmac Toyota Cleveland.

2002

Jock Mac Gregor retired.
Graham Oldham became the sole owner.
Danyal (Graham’s daughter) and Craig Fitzgerald (his son-in-law), from Pacific Toyota, Cairns, joined the Group.
The establishment of an ultra-modern Dealership, Oldmac Mazda Springwood at 3450 Pacific Highway, Springwood.
